Cleaning and organizing go hand in hand – and knowing where all your cleaning supplies are when you need to wipe up a spill or you’re ready to tackle the whole house can help you be more efficient.
We’ve put together a list of storage ideas for the main areas in your home where you probably keep your cleaning tools and cleansers.
Kitchen
The kitchen is a prime place for cleaning, but a lot of the storage space is dedicated to cooking items, utensils, dishes and, of course, food. You might have to think creatively when it comes to putting away your mop, spray bottles and dish soap.
To maximize room under the sink and in lower cabinets, outfit them with stackable shelves.
Vertical space is often overlooked. Hang a wall-and-door rack on the back of the pantry door to hold bottles. Use the space between wire shelves with a Hideaway Hanging Shelf. It can contain sponges, scrub brushes and other smaller items.

Finding extra areas in the bathroom for cleaners can require ingenuity. Try placing a slim cube organizer next to the sink or near the shower. If you’re fortunate to have a linen closet, fabric drawers make great portable containers for cleaning supplies. You can easily carry them from one bathroom to another.

Take advantage of the back of the door for supplies storage.
Laundry Room
If you have young children, pets or both, the laundry room can be a dangerous place. Be sure to store laundry pods and similar items high up or behind doors. Wood storage systems with shelving and drawers give you plenty of options for stashing supplies.
For ventilation in a damp room like a laundry area, install wire shelving. Choose Close Mesh shelving so that smaller bottles don’t tip over. Individual wire shelves can make a petite laundry closet more organized easily and inexpensively.

A small wire shelf work wonders in a laundry room.

The garage ends up as a catchall for just about everything you don’t have room for in the house, quickly making it cluttered. Where will you put your outdoor cleaning equipment and supplies?
If you don’t have a shed, add hooks on the wall of the garage for your brooms, leaf blower, rake and hoses. Keep harsh chemicals out of reach in a locked cabinet. For other cleaning items, heavy-duty shelves will do the trick.

Store your car washing supplies and other outdoor cleaning items in the garage using heavy-duty shelving.
When you know where your cleaning supplies are, the act of cleaning becomes a little bit less of a chore and you can keep track of what needs replacing or refilling.
